The Haspengouw area is a rich agricultural region since ancient times. Its small villages are surrounded by orchards and pastures. These are set in a fertile rolling landscape as far as the eye can see.
This region is known as “the Tuscany of the North”, with panoramic views, quite villages punctuated by church towers among small hills.
Old square farms with courtyards, castles and country houses bear witness to the richness of this land.
You can easily wander among the fields and orchards by bike or on foot. The colours, smells and setting allow one to rediscover peace and calm. The towns of St-Truiden, Tongeren and Luik offer a different experience in exploring the long history of the region and the charm of its present day.
